Installing Surf on a Chromebook
1. Enable Linux on Your Chromebook (if not already enabled)
Linux (Beta), also known as Crostini, allows you to run Linux applications on your Chromebook.
- Click on the time at the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Select Settings.
- In the left-hand menu, click Advanced > Developers.
- Next to Linux development environment, click Turn On.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Linux. This may take several minutes.
Once set up, a Terminal window will open, indicating that the Linux environment is ready.

2. Download the Surf Installer
Surf provides a .deb package suitable for Debian-based systems like the Linux environment on your Chromebook.
- Open the Chrome browser.
Navigate to the following URL:
